The cheapest homestay of Inle Lake
We are obsessed by finding the cheapest accommodation while keeping at least some basic standard. In Inle Lake we found a nice homestay , even though we had to evacuate a small fluffy mouse first 🙂
Inle Lake, a popular tourist site and an inland fresh water lake, is in the south of Nyaungshwe Town. Part of Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary lies in Nyaungshwe, Pinlaung and Pekon Township. The town lies about five kilometres to the north of Inle Lake; the boarding area is near the bridge at the western end of Yone Gyi Road, where local fishermen and guides compete for mooring space. From here, you will want to set off early in the morning for your trip around Inle Lake.
The homestay
The homestay’s name is 999 Guest house and you can find it in Nyaung Shwe, on Phaung Daw Side Rd (near the primary school). One night costed us 12 000 kyats (instead of 17 000 kyats everywhere else in Nyaung Shwe), shared bathroom, mosquito nets and view to the Buddhist pagoda.
999 Guest House has 14 guest rooms with shared bathroom. If you are looking for a budget stay with a good location, it will be a good choice.
