Tea for free at every table in Myanmar
You will find green tea in every restaurant. It is always on the table, always free.
After arriving to Myanmar we were a little bit shy to drink it but we were explained by old local man that we can drink as much as we want. If there is not enough, just ask for more.
The only restaurants we didn’t find it were the ones serving Myanmar food, the cheapest food of Myanmar.
Warning about the Myanmar free tea
There is only one thing one should be aware of. The small porcelain cups that you will find next to the jar are recycled. That means everyone who drinks from it, puts the cup back to the bowl half-filled with (dirty) water to “wash”. We recommend to ask the waiter to bring new bowls with clean water. By this way nobody seems to be offended by that request.
